CCTV in London
CCTV surveillance is rife in London with an estimated 400,000 cameras in private premises only. In the entire UK it is estimated that there is one camera for every 14 people. The growth of public surveillance in the UK partly stemmed from the IRA bombings. Today CCTV covers most city centre, car-parks and housing estates.
