Busses in London

The bus network is run by London Buses which is a division of Transport for London.
Red double-deck buses are the archetypal British bus. The much loved Routemaster
bus with its rear door is to thank for this. The first Routemaster bus came into service in 1954 and required a 2 person crew. Two routes still remain that are serviced
by Routemaster buses namely route 9 from the Royal Albert Hall and route 15 from Trafalgar Square. Other than double-deck buses a new type of bus referred to as
bendy buses have been put in service. London also has buses like 24-hour night buses,
tour buses, airport buses and long-distance coaches.
